Brief history of our Craft Fair and Home Show: In the early years, the Brandywine Lions functioned as a Civic Organization raising money for the community by selling light bulbs, Christmas trees, brooms, etc. In the 1960’s, the club held an auction selling furniture that had damaged in the store donated by the Curtis Brothers Store. In the mid 1970’s, club member Lion Tom Liebel liked Steam Engines so we started what was a Flea Market with a Steam Engine Farm Life Show theme which was a great success. Mr. George Curtis helped us move the show to his property which was called "The Curtis Farm." Mr. Curtis was at the time attending Craft Shows, and through his expertise and using his office to coordinate marketing, the show grew from year to year. The theme of the show has changed over the years to reflect the public direction and interest. The show is one of the most successful financial ventures in Lions Multiple District 22-C. The show was moved to the property purchased by the Brandywine Lions Club with the funds obtained through its success. The show continues to be a successful source of income to fulfill our commitment to serve our community.
